Winston N. Steeves of Lower Coverdale passed away on Friday,
February 12, 2016 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Lower Coverdale NB,
he was the son of the late Noel and Vera Steeves
(Downing).
Winston was a retired welder with CN following a 35-year
career. He was known as the voice of the Albert County Exhibition for
over 48 years and was actively involved with various other fairs and
exhibitions. He was the past president of the Parklanes Seniors
Bowling League. His interests and hobbies were many and diverse.
Having been an auctioneer, avid golfer, and an animated story teller,
Winston managed to keep everyone entertained as these talents were of
course complimented by his witty sense of humor.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Phyllis Steeves
(Knowlton), daughter, Debra Ann Steeves of Lower Coverdale, son,
Darren (Susan) of Riverview; grandchildren, Harrison, Julie and
Vanessa; sister, Doreen Power (Bill) of Lower Coverdale, brothers;
Richard (Lorna) of Riverview and Wayne Steeves (Tanya) of Lower
Coverdale. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother,
Lotan, a sister, Lelia Adair and brother in law Earl
Adair.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd.,
Riverview (869-2007) on Sunday, February 14, from 1:00-4:00pm. A
service will take place from Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial
Chapel on Monday, February 15, at 11:00 am with Rev. James Hammond
officiating. The interment will follow in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
