Gurney Tower of Albert County passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, February 12, 2016. Born in Albert County, he was the son of the late Clifford and Lottie (Leaman) Tower.

Gurney was retired from Quality Concrete as a truck driver. He took great pride in his work. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors whether it be camping, hunting or browsing the local flea markets. His passion revolved around Dodge trucks and you would often find him tinkering around under the hood.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Linda (Stiles); son, Nathan (Carla Allen); granddaughter, Mindy (Deveren); great-grandson, Dylan who was Grampie’s boy; brothers, Bert (Sharon), Clifford (Linda), Brian (Barb); sister, Wanda Martin; sister in law, Rosalie Tower; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Gurney was predeceased by brothers, Arnold and Charles; sisters, Shirley Bannister and Marjorie Geldart; and grandson, Rowdy Tower.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869-2007) on Monday from 3:00 – 5:00 and 7:00 – 9:00pm. A funeral service will take place from Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, February 16, at 11:00am with Rev. Jim Eagles officiating. The interment will follow in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Donations made to the Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
