Bill Cooper, formerly of Riverview, passed away suddenly at his residence on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Born in Alliston, ON, he was the son of the late William and Nora Cooper (Dimond).

Bill was a former softball umpire for several years. He was a member of The Air Force Vets and a WWII history buff. He was retired from Sobey’s, Riverview, following a 29-year career.

He will be dearly missed by his children, Jennifer and Grant Cooper both of Fort McMurray, AB; sister, Valerie Dessureault (Alain) of Victoria, BC; brother, Grant (Barb Herd) of Fredericton. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Elizabeth Howell; sisters-in-law, Wendy Caissie (Mike), Barbara Howell (Roddy), Janis Howell (late David); brother-in-law, Peter Howell (Doriane); and nieces and nephews, Nancy and Janet Dessureault Murray (Blake), Amy and Alex Caissie, Emily and Timothy Howell, and Spencer Howell. Bill will also be missed by his Sunday night friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Janet (Howell).

The family will be receiving friends and relatives at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869-2007) on Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00pm. A service celebrating Bill’s life will take place at Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 11:00am with The Venerable Brent Ham officiating. The interment will follow in Alderwood Cemetery. Donations made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB would be greatly appreciated by the family.
