Steve H. Douthwright of Collier Mountain, passed away
Saturday, July 23, 2016 at The Moncton Hospital, following a lengthy
illness with cancer. Born in Moncton, he was the son of Beth (Steeves)
and the late Melvin Douthwright.
Steve was a retired general contractor. He enjoyed sports of
all kinds, an avid golfer and loved working around his property,
pruning Christmas trees and making maple syrup. Yet it was his 1970
Chevy Pickup Truck that he took great pride in.
Besides his mother, Beth of Fredericton he will be dearly
missed by his wife, Joan (Steeves) Douthwright, daughter, Misty
Phillips (Matt) of Riverview, son, Scott (Charmaine) of Moncton,
sisters; Fern Mitchell (George) of Riverview and Joyce Slipp (Dick) of
Fredericton, a brother, Eric Douthwright of Riverview, two
grandchildren; Finn and Oliver, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by his first wife, Karen
(Jensen).
In honoring his wishes there will be no visitation or funeral
service. The arrangements are entrusted to Cobb’s Funeral
Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007).
Donations to The Friends of The Moncton Hospital, the Petitcodiac Golf
and Country Club or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated
