Clarke Tree of Moncton passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital, with his loving wife and four children at his side on Friday, January 13, 2017. Born in Stratford, ONT he was the son of the late Alfred and Vera (Clarke) Tree.

Clarke was retired from CN following a career of over 36 years. He was a long-time member of Mount Royal United Church. He was a man who had many passions, yet it was always his beloved family that he was always most concerned about and loved every moment spent with them. A life long learner with many interests, he became accomplished in all that he undertook. He loved travels with his wife, gardening, music and the cherished friendships formed. Later in life Clarke learned to play his father’s fiddle and was a member of the Sussex Avenue Fiddlers. He was member and past Master of Acacia Lodge No. 49 F&AM.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 62 years, Hazel (Sparling) to whom he was her devoted care giver for the last few years, children David (Brenda) of Fredericton, Stephen (Jeannette) of Moncton, Susan Tree Bujold (Val) of Riverview, Jim (Janet) of Fredericton, sister, Marie Herman of Stratford, sister in law, Jean Lowe of Tavistock, 11 grandchildren; Jason, Andy, Matthew, Katie, Sarah, Emma, Sophie, Sam, Ava, Robbie and Alex, as well as his nieces and nephews; Brenda (Gerry), Cathy (Joel), Kathy and Greg. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sisters: Lois and Helen, brothers; John and Louis.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Suzanne Hall Losier, the wonderful  nurses and staff at the Palliative Care Unit of the Moncton Hospital, as well as the staff of Bayshore Home Health Care for the loving care given over the past year.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, with Acacia Lodge No.49 F&AM holding a memorial service from the funeral home at 5:45 PM. A service celebrating Clarke’s life will take place from the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 1 PM, with Rev. Dr. Beverly Daley officiating. Donations in Clarke’s memory to Mount Royal United Church would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences can be expressed at www.cobbsfuneralhome.ca
