Harry Eagles of Riverview, formerly of Moncton and Alma, passed away at Lakeview Manor on Monday, September 25, 2017. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Comfort and Florence (Lewis) Eagles.

He was a member of Mountain View United Church, served with the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII, was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion, and was a volunteer at the Riverside Albert Foodbank. Harry retired from CN following a forty-year career as an Engineer. He was an active member of the Lions Club and was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellow Award.

He will be dearly missed by his loving children: David (Carol) of Riverview, Stephen (Gloria) of Bouctouche, Martha Steeves (Brian) of Riverview, John (late Cindy) of Fredericton, and Mary Allen (Larry) of Moncton; his eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Elaine (Anderson) in 2010; his step-mother, Ida Eagles (Goddard); brothers: Gerald, Dr. Eldon Eagles, and sisters: Muriel Ferguson, Edith Barnett and Olive Hutchinson.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview, NB (869-2007) on Thursday, September 28, from 6-8pm. A funeral service will take place at Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial chapel on Friday September 29, 2017 at 11am with Rev. David Eagles and Rev. Danny Compton officiating. A reception will follow. The interment will take place in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Donations can be made in Harry’s memory to Lakeview Manor. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbsfuneralhome.ca
