Harold Woods of Moncton passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, January 15, 2018. Born in Chatham, NB., he was the son of the late George and Lillian (Ahern) Woods.

Harold was the former owner of Harold’s Barber Shop and volunteered with many different groups and organizations. He was a member of the Air Force Vets Club, I00B Club, and helped with the poppy campaign for numerous years. He was a former member of 40 years with The Moncton Lions Club and volunteered with the senior superstore bus as well as many functions connected with the veterans. Amidst his busy schedule, Harold always had time for his family. He took great joy in attending the many sporting events his grandchildren were involved in and created plenty of memories with all his loved ones during the thirty-nine summers they spent together at Treasure Island. He will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour.

Harold is lovingly remembered by his wife, Evelyn of 57 years; daughter, Marilyn (Peter Gill) of Riverview; sons, David Woods and Dennis Woods (Trudy) of Riverview; grandchildren: Sarah, Laura, Michael, Courtney and Cameron; siblings, Connie (John Cavanaugh), Carolyn (Leon Bremner), Ken (Mary) and John (Judy) all of Miramichi; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Harold was predeceased by a son, Michael, in 1984.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869-2007) on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8pm with parish prayers taking place at 7:30pm. A funeral mass will take place at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11:00am with Father Charles Broderick officiating. The interment will follow in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Donations in Harold’s memory can be made to Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation. Condolences may be expressed to Evelyn and the family at www.cobbsfuneralhome.ca.

The family also wish to thank the staff of the 4th floor at The Moncton Hospital as well as the staff at Spencer’s Nursing Home for their wonderful care and support throughout this last year.
