Isabel H. MacDonald

1942-2018

Isabel H. MacDonald

MacDonald, Isabel H.  of Riverview, NB passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, February 24, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Isabel was born in Kouchibouguac, the daughter of the late Ernest and Ruby (Day) Carter.

Cherished wife of the late Sydney MacDonald, Isabel is survived by her three children: Lana (Robert) MacDonald of Amherst, NS; Jeffrey (Joanne) MacDonald of Moncton; and Wendy (Derrick) Bathurst of Riverview. She was a very proud grandparent of six grandchildren: Erin, Ryan, Monica, Lauren, Brendan and Bryce and three great-grandchildren: Nolan, Austin, and Sydney.

A devoted wife and mother, Isabel’s strength of character was exemplified in her love for her family. Between tirelessly supporting her children as they pursued their interests and keeping her household running smoothly with home-cooked meals and an open door. Isabel’s warmth, tenacity, and unfailing sense of humour endeared her to everyone she met. Isabel was outgoing and bright, always ready to make company feel at home with an infectious smile.

Isabel will be sadly missed by her siblings Willard, Esther, Robert, Floyd and Shirley. She was predeceased by one sister, Julia. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and life-long friends.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007) on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 3:00 – 4:30pm followed by the interment in Pine Hill Cemetery, Salisbury.  Remembrances in Isabel’s memory may be made to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation.
