Ivan (Poppy) Sawyer of Moncton passed away peacefully at The
Moncton Hospital on Saturday, April 14, 2018. Born in Moncton, NB, he
was the son of the late Bernard and Eloise (Leger)
Sawyer.
Ivan was a true hard-working family man who loved spending
time with his grandchildren, know for his early morning drives with is
Tim Hortons coffee and to cheer on his Boston Bruins. He has been
employed as a transport driver with Pallett Depot.
He will be dearly missed by his wife Florida (Savoie) Sawyer,
his daughter, Tammy Chevarie (Wayne) of Saint John, son, Roger (Butch)
(Sharon) of Moncton, sisters; Edna Psihas, Patsy Berry, Roseanne
Savoie (Onile), Priscilla Saulnier (Johnny), Anita Leger (Bernard),
Camilla Pimental (Carlos), Bernice LeBlanc, Rose Landry, brothers;
Gerald (Kim) and Paul (Diane), grandchildren; Alesha, Megan (Maggie),
Roger Jr., Dylan and Ryan, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Jeannette Hebert,
a infant sister, Camilla and a brother, Raymond.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine
Road, Riverview (869-2007) on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9. A
service celebrating Ivan’s life will take place from
Cobb’s Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 11
AM with Father Phil Mulligan presiding. Donations to The Friends of
The Moncton Hospital Foundation (Oncology Department). The interment
will take place at Fair Haven Cemetery. Online condolences may be
