Eleanor Beck, 83, of Riverview passed away peacefully at The
Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. Born in Brookton, Albert
Co., she was the daughter of the late Stafford and Mary
(O’Connor) MacEachern.
After raising her family, Eleanor was employed for several
years at Delta Beausejour Hotel. She also dedicated many hours to her
communities as a volunteer, including St. Patrick’s Family
Centre, Forest Dale Nursing Home, Holy Ghost RC Church, the Riverview
Boys’ and Girls’ Club Breakfast program, and the
Pastoral Care Department of the Moncton Hospital. Eleanor also
cofounded the Riverside-Albert Farmers’ Market and was an
active member of the Riverview Seniors’ Round Table
Committee. She was proud of her Irish heritage and a member of the WAK
Irish Cultural Association and the St. Bernard’s CWL. Her
hobbies and passions were evident and appreciated. Many enjoyed her
generous handcrafted gifts and delicious baked goods.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters Debbie Korotkov
(Gene Wilson), Lise Watts (David), JoAnn McLaughlin (Dave) and Kelly
McKnight (Ron); her grandchildren Ryan, Megan, Brad, Lauren, Kayla,
Christina, Samantha, Kate, Stephanie, Matthew, Ben, and Emily and her
great grandsons William, Michael, Logan, and Kyros; her sisters,
Evelyn Domingue (late Ron), Marie Cole (Gary), Grace Smith (Wayne) and
Deanna Bastarache (Roger); and brothers, Gordie, Bert (Myrna), and
Harold. Besides her parents, a brother, Jerry, predeceased
her.
The family will be receiving friends and relatives at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine
Road, Riverview E1B 0E4 (869-2007) on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard’s Roman
Catholic Church, 43 Botsford Street, Moncton, on Friday, April 27 at
11 am with Father Allison Carroll presiding. Reception will follow in
the church hall. The interment will take place at Holy Ghost Cemetery,
Riverside Albert at a later date. Donations made to St.
Bernard’s Church Capital Expenditure Fund or Moncton Right
