Doris "Betty" Sheffield

Betty Sheffield of Royal Court passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, May 11, 2018. Born in Toronto, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Ruth (Wachter) Thorne.

Betty enjoyed playing the piano at Royal Court for Sunday Hymn Sing which always brought a crowd.  She enjoyed Trivia Nights, other games and walking with friends and neighbours. Mostly Betty enjoyed spending time with her family near and far.  Prior to moving to Riverview, Betty lived in Northern Ontario and had retired from Jackson – Lewis Construction in Toronto.  She enjoyed many activities in various churches in Ontario as an organist.

She will be dearly missed by her loving sons Gordon Mason (Kristine) of Newtonville, ON and Robert Mason (Marie) of Whitby, ON, as well as her daughter, Laura Kenny (Michael) of Riverview; step-children Marcia Foster of Welland, ON, Drew Sheffield (Carrie) of Langton ON, Jason Sheffield (Tricia) of Hamilton, ON, thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; as well as her sister, Mary Campbell of Toronto, ON. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Jack in 2014.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview, NB (869-2007) on Tuesday, May 15 from 6 - 8pm.  A funeral service will be held from Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Vincent Burgess of Lewis Mountain United Baptist church officiating.
