W.L. (Bill) Power of Lower Coverdale passed away peacefully
at The Moncton Hospital with his family by his side on July 18,
2018. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Herb
& Mary (Price) Power.
A veteran of WWII; R.C.N.V.R, having served with the Royal
Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve.
He was a former CN Fireman, he then moved on and became an
Independent Agent for Imperial Oil prior to starting Power’s
Fuel with his wife Doreen where they retired from it 15 years
ago. He was a very big part of the Greater Moncton
Community, helping anyone he could. His passions
besides his work were Auction sales, collecting antiques and reading.
His greatest passion was his family, always there whenever they
needed. He was a member of the Lower Coverdale Baptist
Church, Hillsborough Legion, and The New Brunswick Progressive
Conservative Party.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Doreen (Steeves)
Power; daughters Crystal Blakely of Riverview, Kelly of Lower
Coverdale; sons William (Sue) of Lower Coverdale, Lester (Shelley) of
Salem and Edward (Shelly) of Shenstone; his eleven grandchildren;
Special Grandson Ryan (Maggie); Tyler (Lindsey); Victoria (Nathan);
William (Toni); Michael (Kristyn); Shannon; Evan (Kelly); Brittany
(Andrew); Amanda; Samantha (Joey) and Lindsay (Dylan); fifteen
great-grandchildren: Billy, Johnny, Hunter, Daniel, Wyatt, Kierah,
Sawyer, Abel, Harper, Lodein, Celisse, Hailey, Hunter, Alyssa and
Deacon; several nieces and nephews that were very special to
"Uncle Bill"; brothers-in-law; Wayne (Tanya)
Steeves; Richard (Lorna)Steeves; as well as sisters-in-Law Phyllis
Steeves and Mina Steeves.
Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by his sisters and
their husbands; Una (Bud) Steeves; Jean (Arnold) Johnson; brother; Guy
Power; brothers-in-law Winston, Lotan Steeves; Earl and sister-in-law
Lelia Adair; and son-in-law Daniel Blakely.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at
Cobb’s Funeral Home, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869-2007)
on Friday, from 2:00 – 4:00pm and 6:00 – 8:00pm.
The Royal Canadian Legion Hillsborough Branch #32 will hold a memorial
service at the funeral home prior to visitation at 5:45pm. The funeral
service will be held at Lower Coverdale Baptist Church, 1121 Route 114
Lower Coverdale, NB on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 1:00pm with Rev.
Jack Allen officiating. Donations in Bill’s memory made to
