Frank Flannery of Riverview passed away on Friday, October
12, 2018 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Moncton, he was the son of
the late Frank and Marion (Howell) Flannery.
Frank worked in Moncton for the CN Accounting Dept.,
transferred to Montreal HQ where he was System Manager Traffic
Systems, then later transferred back to Moncton as Manager Information
Systems with Marine Atlantic. In retirement he worked as a Business
Computer Consultant for various companies in the Moncton
area.
Frank was Past President of the Glenmore Curling Club in
Montreal, V.O.N. Moncton, Marine Atlantic Pensioners Association
(Moncton) and was a former member of the Moncton Hospital Board of
Directors.
He attended St. Bernard’s RC Church and had many
passions in life. He enjoyed curling, woodworking, painting, playing
cards and traveling. He especially enjoyed traveling to Ireland, where
he researched his family tree. He was so very proud of his Irish
roots.
He loved family gathering and entertaining everyone with his
quick Irish wit.
As a husband, dad and grandfather Frank was deeply loved and
respected, his passion for his family defined his life that he loved
and lived to the fullest in all his 89 years.
Frank was the last surviving member of his immediate family,
he will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Lois (Buchanan); son, Mike
(Trudy) Flannery of Fredericton, daughter Erin Flannery of Halifax,
grandsons; Michael Flannery of Fredericton, Shawn (Natasha) Flannery
of Fort McMurray and his great-granddaughter Haylee.
He will also be missed by his brothers-in-law; Joe Buchanan,
Paul (Ela) Buchanan, several nieces, nephews and many good
friends
Aside from Frank’s parents, he was predeceased by
his brother Claude Flannery.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd.,
Riverview (869-2007) on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 2:00pm to
4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A service celebrating his life will take
place from Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Wednesday
at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Frank may be
made to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital or a charity of the
donor’s choice. The interment will follow in Fair Haven
