Betty Stafford of Riverview passed
away at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, November 26, 2018. Born in
Saint John, she was the daughter of the late J. Ernest and Dorothy
(Holder) Scullion.
Betty was first and foremost a loving
wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She retired from
nursing when she married the love of her life in 1962. She was a
provincial bowler with the Riverview Royals and captained the
Riverview Tigers. She also enjoyed knitting and baking and was the
last surviving member of her immediate family.
She will be deeply missed by her
loving husband, Bernard; sons Doug (Barbara) and Bruce (Chris) both of
Riverview; grandchildren James (Ashley), Matthew (Katie), Stephen
(Erica), Aaron, Sarah and Jared; her great-granddaughter Jaina; as
well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was
predeceased by her brother Bill.
She loved nothing better than to laugh
and joke with family and friends at family gatherings and was the life
of the party and centre of attention. Everybody loved Mom (Nanny) and
couldn’t wait to be in her company and enjoy her bubbly
outlook and love.
Bernard is so thankful for the
privilege of being in her companionship for 56 wonderful
years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd.,
Riverview, (869-2007). A funeral service will take place at Immaculate
Heart of Mary Catholic Church on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 11:00am
with Father Phil Mulligan officiating. Reception to follow. Donations
made to the Oncology Department of The Moncton Hospital would be
greatly appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be expressed
