Celebration of life in
Marian’s memory will be held Sunday, December 16,
2018 from 1:00pm to
3:00pm.
Marian Zaichkowski of Riverview passed
away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, December 8, 2018.
Born in Winnipeg, MB, she was the daughter Hilda (Patterson)
Norris.
An avid world traveler, voracious
reader and later in life, expressive painter, Marion’s real,
abiding and selfless passions were Scouting, curling, Literacy, CNIB,
the Ukrainian Club and Toastmasters. She was a Canadian airwoman and
graduated at 76 with a BA in History from Mount Allison University.
She had received many awards throughout her life including the
Queen’s Silver and Diamond Jubilee medals, a Rotary medal
for community service and the highest awards in Scouting. She also
became the first woman to win the Toastmasters Humorous Speech Contest
in District 45.
She will be deeply missed by her
loving husband of 63 years Walter Zaichkowski, daughters; Kathy Adisa,
Terry (Rick MacDonald) Zaichkowski, Trisha (Peter) Rooney, sons; Jim
(Dawn Drennan) Zaichkowski, Stefan (Tina) Zaichkowski, Will (Janet
Tonin) Zaichkowski and her brothers, Mike Norris and John (Madeline)
Norris.
She will also be missed by her
grandchildren; Kemi, Deji, Carlie, Sara, Joe, Ashley, Will, Chase,
Robert, Brenden, Jesse, Conner, Alex, Nick, great-grandchildren,
Annika, Eli and her nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Cobb’s Funeral
Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview,
(869-2007). In lieu of flowers, donations made to CNIB would
be greatly appreciated by the family.
