Jim Terry of Riverview passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. Born in Truro, he was the son of the late Boyd and Jennie (Butler) Terry.

Jim graduated from The University of Moncton (L’Universite St-Joseph) in 1963 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He began his career with Household Finance. After six years, Jim moved on to the Department of Social Development. He retired in 2000 after 30+ years. He remained involved in his community and was instrumental in the formation of the local chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. A great deal of his leisure time was enjoyed outdoors. He especially loved fishing and camping. Jim had a passion for bluegrass music, attended a number of festivals and also played for many seniors at different local homes.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Marilyn Terry (nee Cormier); children; Sean (Susan) Terry, Erin Terry-Persaud and Brendon (Jennifer Jeffrey) Terry; his grandchildren: Chelsea, Ryan and Sarah; Shea and Kieran; and Kylan, Maddon and Rhiannon; as well as his sister-in-law Verlie Terry. Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by his brother Bernie Terry.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview, NB E1B 0E4 (869-2007) on Friday from 6:00 – 8:00pm. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 1:00pm with Ed Brine officiating. Donations can be made in Jim’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society Society. The family would like to sincerely thank The Oncology Clinic at The Moncton Hospital; Dr. Francouer; Dr. Ghally; their family physician, Dr. Telfer; Dr. Salam and others; as well as the Nursing Staff of Oncology Internal Medicine for the wonderful care Jim received.
