Robert (Bob) Ernest Tremblay

Robert (Bob) Ernest Tremblay of Riverview passed away peacefully at The Moncton Veteran’s Center on Tuesday, July 9, 2019.

Born in Wakaw, SK, he was the son of the late Joseph and Lea (Laboissiere) Tremblay. He was a true prairie boy who grew up working on his uncles’ farms. He was a veteran of WWII having began his service career with the Army Reserve and later with the Royal Canadian Navy, he was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6 Moncton and The Riverview Veteran’s and Armed Forces Association.  Bob was a travelling sales rep for Domtar Construction, having retired following a 39-year career and was also a member of the United Commercial Travellers Association . He was instrumental in implementing the UCT wishing wells throughout many convenience stores in the Maritimes. He was an active member of St. John the Baptist Anglican Church in Riverview. Bob had a wonderful life, having played semi-pro hockey as a young man and later marrying the love of his life Constance (Connie) of 72 years. They had a wonderful circle of friends that they travelled with, spent time at the cottage in Parlee Beach and St. Pete’s Beach, FL. Gardening was a great passion of Bob`s as he showed each year with his flower and vegetable gardens and he did so until this year.

He will be dearly missed by daughters Cathy Allaby (David) of Riverview, Beth Tremblay (Wayne) of Sidney, BC; son Dane Tremblay (Sue) of Grand Lake, NB; grandchildren: Beth (James) and Craig Tremblay, Jennifer, Jocelyn (Gregg) and Justin (Alicia) Allaby; great-grandchildren: Jackson and Adeline Allaby, Caleb Roberts, William Tremblay-Janes,  and a sister in laws; Berenice Good and Bette Murchinson.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Constance (Smith) Tremblay (Mar 2018), sister Evelyn and brothers; Frank, Noel, Tony and Mel.

At this time the family would to thank Crystal, Alice and many others who made it possible for Dad to live on his own these last few years.

A service celebrating his life will take place from Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007) on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at 1:30 PM with The Venerable Brent Ham presiding. The interment will take place in Fair Haven Cemetery. Donations to The Friends of The Moncton Hospital or St. John The Baptist Anglican Church would be appreciated by the family.
