Robert Luc Williams of Riverview passed away peacefully on Friday October 4, 2019 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Moncton, he lived most of his life in Riverview. He was the son of the late Ovila and Florence (Grenning) Williams. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 57 years, Mary, earlier this year. He survived by his children Angela Williams (Will Kealy) of Ottawa, Mark Williams (Donna) of Riverview and Karen Stern (David) of Burdett NY, his grandson Benjamin Stern, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by three sisters, Frances Comeau, Florence Blackmun, Patricia Barter and three brothers, Alexander Williams, Frederick Williams and Patrick Williams. Robert was the last surviving member of his family.
Bob worked for more than 30 years at the Dorchester Penitentiary and enjoyed his retirement over the last 22 years. He dearly enjoyed summers at the cottage in Grande Digue and was known for firing his handcrafted cannons. He was a devoted life-long parishioner of both Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. Bernard’s Churches. Bob was an avid reader and loved nature and aviation. His lovely whistling will be missed.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home & Cremation Center 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869-2007) on Thursday October 10, 2019 from 6-8pm. A funeral mass will take place on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 10am form St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Botsford St. Moncton with Father Allison Carroll presiding, with internment following at Alderwood Cemetery. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Bob, the family suggest The Multiple Sclerosis Society or St. Bernard’s Church.
