It is with heavy and broken hearts we announce Jerry 71, of Lower Coverdale, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on October 12, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He remained as positive as he could during his battle and went with the flow for treatments, not once but twice.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Eldora of 48 years, his 3 girls, Rhonda(Troy), Karen(Robert) and Krista(Keith) and his 5 precious grandchildren, Jordan, Katelyn, Justin, Jacob and Kenneth. Pappy loved his grandchildren more than life itself.

Jerry is also survived by 9 siblings. Dorothy(Ron), Donald(Muriel) both of Shediac, Sandra(Joey) of Hillsborough, Linda of Hopewell Cape, Patricia of Nova Scotia, Terrance (Alfreda) of Shediac, Thomas(Elizabeth), Debby and Paul, all of Ontario, several in-laws, nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was predeceased by his father Andrew, his mother Lorraine, a brother James, his father-in-law Martin Steeves and his cousin(brother) John Beck. He was also predeceased by his aunt and uncle Mary and Harry Beck, who raised him.

While Jerry was a man of little words, he was a man of love. Love for his family and friends.

In earlier years he loved to garden and won several awards for his flowers at The Albert County Exhibition. He enjoyed bowling, being at the trailer in the summers and playing Bingo.

He retired from Norampac (Domtar) in 2006. He worked at Sobeys Mountain Rd for a while and recently at Scholatics (Papa Jerry)

The family would like to thank the many Doctors and nurses for their care given to Jerry and his family before during and after he was diagnosed with cancer.

Family will be receiving guests at a celebration of life at Cobb’s Funeral Home White Pine Rd, Riverview on Thursday October 17 from 6-9pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital or The Sheldon H. Rubin Oncology Clinic in Jerry’s memory would be appreciated by the family.
