Charles (Charlie) Steeves of Riverview peacefully passed away
on November 26, 2020 at home. He was the son of the late Alice
(Murray) and Talmage Steeves. He was employed in transportation for 45
years before he retired. Charlie was a World War II veteran and a
proud member of the RCNVR, serving on the HMCS Ontario. He was a
member of the Riverview Veterans Association, having been their
vice-president, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch
#6.
Charlie will be missed by his loving partner Norma (Calhoun)
of Riverview, daughters Barbara (Venning) Goad of Truro, sons, Thomas
(Chrystal) of Fredericton, Brian (Janice) of Fredericton, Mark (Pat)
of Riverview, daughter-in-law Carolee of Hampton, and brother David
(Helen) of Riverview, along with beloved step-children Deborah Lahey,
Cheryl Lahey, Shelley (Leonard) Butler. He is also survived and missed
by his grandchildren Shelley, Michael, Shannon, Shane, Briana, Kayla,
Devonne, Heidi, Jared, Talmage, Nikola, Stephanie, Tori, Jordon,
Travis, great-grandchildren, Zoe, Kolbie, April, Jordan, Bailey, Ava,
Mason, and great-great-granddaughter Anora. Charlie will also be
dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, and special family friends the
Smiths from Prince Edward Island.
Besides his parents, Charlie was predeceased by his loving
wife Stella, son Charlie, son-in-law Dick Goad, and sisters Lulu,
Mary, Lillian, and Doris. Since his passing, his daughter Paula Goad
has also passed away.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to
the Extra Mural program for their kindness, assistance, and
professionalism.
Charlie’s family will be receiving friends and
relatives on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm for a
time to share memories. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6
and the Riverview Veterans Association will have a service at 10:45 at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine
Road, Riverview (869-2007). In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed
to the Humanity Project, 449 St George Street, Moncton, NB E1C
