It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barry Pert, of Riverview, which occurred on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. Born in Montreal, he was the son of the late John and Eileen (Flannery) Pert.

Barry was not only an avid golfer, but he worked at Lakeside Golf and Country Club, where he had many close friends. Besides golfing, he loved his landscaping projects, gardening and spending time outdoors. In his younger years he enjoyed alpine skiing and springboard diving.

Barry lived his life to the fullest with his "joie de vivre" and his never ending gift of laughter and friendship.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Cathy of Riverview, sister, Elaine LaFrance (Leo) and his daughter, Alaina, all of Montreal. He will also be missed by his cherished friend, Colleen MacLeod and his faithful four-legged friend Rex. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Marilyn Douthwright and brother, Wayne Pert.

Due to current COVID restrictions on funeral services, a private visitation has taken place prior to cremation and a service to share and celebrate Barry’s life will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center 330 Whitepine Rd. Riverview (869-2007). Donations in Barry’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
