It is with profound gratitude for a life well lived, that we
announce the passing of Corinne Kavanaugh of Riverview that occurred
at The Grass Nursing Home on Friday, December 31, 2021.
Born in South Nelson, NB, she was the daughter of the late
James and Anne (Burns) McEachreon. Corinne was a long time member of
the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and was member of the IHM
Ladies Society.
Corinne was an excellent student always receiving wonderful
grades and was Valedictorian and class leader of her high school
class. She attended teacher’s college in Fredericton and
started her teaching career in Bathurst. Upon moving to Riverview, she
was part of the Moncton Montessori school for 15 years. She then took
a year off and then founded her own MCK Early Learning Centre which
she operated for another 15 years. Corinne was a beloved teacher who
touched the young lives of so many children that have grown into
prosperous adults that always have great memories of their time with
her. She loved all her students and instilled the love of learning and
particularly of reading in so many of them, including all of her own
granddaughters.
Her personal life revolved around her family. A beautiful
58-year marriage with the love of her life Al! Her eyes would light up
at the mention of her three daughters. But mention one of her 5
grandchildren and you couldn’t stop her talking/bragging
about them. Their love for her in return is immense; her love of
family, her kindness, inner beauty and her compassion is reflected in
each of them, in beautiful different ways in each of them. They will
miss her deeply.
Her love of family was instilled in her at a very young age,
as her mom and her father and brother Nim were her heroes!
She had a deep love for her older brother Dee, sisters Lena
and Honnie, and baby brother Bob. Corinne loved skating and watching
figure skating, playing bridge and in later years instructing some of
her friends. She loved to golf, especially with Al. And she loved the
Royal Family and their weddings. Oh how she loved her doll collection
and her beautiful Royal Doultons, which were proudly displayed in her
beautiful home.
She always happily put others' needs before her own. She was
the kindest, most loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter,
and friend. A shining light to all.
She will be dearly missed by so many, and forever be in the
hearts of her husband of 58 years Al Kavanaugh; daughters Paula
McCurdy (Paul) of Sarnia, Kari Lord (George Davis) of Brampton, and
Tracey Dockrill (Bobby) of Charlotte, NC; sisters Honnie Macht (Ben)
of Calgary and Helena McCarvell of Mississauga; cherished
grandchildren Rachel, Heidi, Nick, Jessica, and Sarah, as well as
several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by
brothers: Derald (Dee) and his wife Corinne, James (Nim) and wife
Teresa, and Robert (Bob) and a brother in law, Clarence
McCarvell.
