It is with profound
sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Bowie at the age of 78,
on April 8th 2023. Paul was born in Chatham NB
and was the son of the late Holden and Annie (Flynn) Bowie. He was the
eldest of seven children and grew up in Oak Point NB.
He will be sadly
missed by his beloved wife of 55 years Lourdes, his daughters Paula
Grossman (Mark) and Melanie Bowie (Jeremy). He was also the proud
grandfather of JP, Hanna, Logan and Blake. He is also survived by his
sister Margaret Jardine (Alan) of Red Bank NB, brothers Bernard
(Shauna) of Hammonds Plains NS and Richard (Marion) of Douglastown NB
and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, and
nephews.
Paul worked for NBTel
for over 35 years, and he enjoyed more than twenty retirement years
doing what he loved, spending time with his family. For many years he
could be spotted daily walking along Gunningsville Blvd with Lourdes
no matter the weather. Paul was a dedicated husband, father and Papa,
who loved life and loved to laugh.
Besides his parents
Paul was predeceased by his brother David Bowie, sisters Mary (Bowie)
Gordon and Lucy (Bowie) Laviolette.
The family would like
to thank the staff of 4200 for their amazing care and the staff of
3600 for their compassion during his final days. In lieu of flowers,
donations can be made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Oncology
Unit or any charity of their choice.
The family will be
receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and
Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869-2007) on Tuesday,
April 11th from 6-8 PM, with parish prayers and
sharing of memories to take place at 7:30 Pm from the funeral home. A
service celebrating his life will take place from the funeral home on
Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 1:00pm with Father Phil Mulligan
presiding. The interment will take place at St. Peter and Paul
Catholic Church Cemetery in Bartibog Bridge, NB at a later
date.
