Philip Darrell Johnston, 55, of Riverview, passed away
unexpectedly on Monday, February 20th. Born in Summerside, PEI, he was
the son of the late Everett and Mildred (Bonnyman) Johnston. He was
employed with the Department of Highways on PEI until he moved to the
Moncton area where he was employed with Exxon Mobile up until the time
of his death. Philip enjoyed motorcycles, all sports, and cheering for
his favorite hockey team, the Toronto Maple Leafs. Earlier in his life
he coached hockey and baseball.
He will be sadly missed by his son, Derrick (Robin),
brothers, Layton (Mary), Wayne (Ruth) and Kimball (Julie), sisters Ida
(Reg) and Ellen (Keith), grandchildren, Emerald, Svanni, Elias,
Jessica and Marshall, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and
cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother,
Jimmy.
The funeral service will take place from Cobb’s
Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 330 Whitepine Rd. Riverview (869-2007),
on Saturday, February 25 at 2pm with Rev. Charlotte Youland
officiating. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a
memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the
