Cynthia Smith, 97, of Riverview passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, September 14, 2014. Born in Cumberland, England, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Bell) Hunter.

Cynthia loved to spend time gardening and took great pride and loved to work in her flower beds. She was a former longtime employee of Woolco.

She is survived by her nephews; Jonnie Wilson (Margaret), Wayne Wilson (Beth) and Bill Wilson (Carol) all of Pine Glen, and nieces; Joyce Whitfield (Dave) and Avril Brough (Jim) all of Cumbria, England. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a baby boy, her husband, Walter Smith, daughter, Peggy (Margaret), as well as several brothers and sisters.

The funeral service will take place from Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869-2007) on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 11 AM with Rev. Brent Ham officiating, the interment to take place at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Donations to The Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
