Thomas Gladney of Riverview passed away at The Moncton
Hospital on Sunday, September 14, 2014. Born in St. John’s,
NL., he was the son of the late Thomas and Bertha Gladney
(Pretty).
Thomas had a career in policing with over 45 years of service
where he began as a Constable and retired as Chief of Police in
Rothesay, NB. In his earlier years he much enjoyed skiing and
swimming. As he got older he grew an interest in electronics and
technology. He was a member of The Moncton Wesleyan
Church.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Margaret
(Anderson), daughters Carolyn Gladney, Sandra McIntosh, Erin Dockrill;
sons David Gladney, Timothy Dockrill; sister Margaret Skeffington;
brothers Don, John and Herb Gladney; grandchildren Cassie, Teegan,
Emma, Laura, Nathan; and great-grandson Isaac. Besides his parents,
Thomas was predeceased by his brother Bill and sister
Joan.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd.,
Riverview (869-2007). A service celebrating Thomas’s life
will take place at The Moncton Wesleyan Church (945 St. George Blvd.)
on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Dr. Laurel
Buckingham officiating. Donations made to the Second Mile Food Bank
(243 Lewisville Rd.) or a memorial of the donor’s choice
