Eugene McKinley C.D. of Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home,
formerly of Riverview, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday,
April 21, 2015. Born in Woodstock, he was the son of the late Roy and
Emma (Lister) McKinley.
Eugene was a veteran of WW11 having served overseas with the
Carleton and York regiment in Italy and Holland. In 1951 he joined the
RCAF Golden Hawks and he retired in 1973. He was a member of the
Woodstock Masonic Lodge No. 11 F. & A.M. and was an avid
supporter of Coverdale Lodge No. 52 F. & A.M. He was an
outdoorsmen who particularly enjoyed hunting and fishing. He
loved to play crib and usually won. He also loved his dart
night with the boys at Riverview Veterans.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 66 years,
Marie (Peggy Stone); daughters, Sue Pollock (Ralph) of Edmonton, AB,
Sandy McKinley (Randy) of Endfield, NS, Linda McKinley of Riverview,
Karen McKinley (Glenn) of Moncton, Beverly Smith (Stephen) of
Riverview, Cathy Northrup of Goodwood, NS, Joanne Noiles (Stephen) of
Upper Coverdale; son, Bruce of Kitchener, ON; his 11 grandchildren, 4
great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides
his parents, Eugene was predeceased by a son, Allen; sisters,
Elizabeth and Eileen; and brothers, Arthur and George.
The family will be receiving friends and relatives at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center on Monday, April
27, 2015 from 2-4 pm at which point a prayer service will follow.
Coverdale Lodge No. 52 F. & A.M. will hold a Masonic Service
at 1:30pm followed by a Memorial Service at 1:45pm by the Riverview
Veterans and Armed Forces Assoc. Donations made to a memorial of the
donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
