Colleen Claire Smith, 22, of Riverview, passed away at The
Moncton Hospital on Sunday May 24, 2015. Born in Halifax, she was the
much loved daughter of Kim and Ellen (Parkes)
Smith.
Colleen was born with many medical challenges.
Colleen had a bowel transplant in 1996 and would have
celebrated the nineteenth anniversary of her transplant this summer.
In 2008 she was granted the trip of a lifetime by the Make A Wish
Foundation to meet the cast of High School Musical.
Colleen loved school and graduated in 2011 from Riverview
Senior High School with honours. She started a course in Early
Childhood Education, but had to stop due to health problems. Colleen
was a member of The Canadian Deaf Blind Association and enjoyed going
to camp each year. She also worked as a Junior Leader with the
Riverview Parks Program.
Colleen was an avid reader, and well known for her use of
yellow highlighters. Her motto was that you can never have enough
books. Her favourite places were Chapters and the Riverview Public
Library.
Colleen was known for her "sassy" spirit, wit,
incredible memory, and her infectious smile. Colleen loved sleepovers
with her friends, movies (with popcorn of course), pizza, and
shopping. She enjoyed enduring friendships with Carrie, Alyson,
Larissa, Mitchell, and Paulette.
Thanks to Natalie McCann, Tina Rooney, Stacey Milburn and
their families, who welcomed her into their lives and hearts. A
special thanks to the Phillips/ Holmden families for the love they
showed Colleen. Becky, Jason and her "sisters" Emma, Katelyn
and Alexa (the little monkey) loved her and treated her like she was
part of the family.
Special thanks to Dr. A. Canning, Dr. S. Skanes, Dr. R.
Comstock, Dr. F. Schweiger, and the amazing staff of the Pediatrics
unit.

Matheson, Laura Smith , Shelley Luckasavitch and Chantal
Parkes; uncles Drew Smith, Rick Luckasavitch, and John Parkes; cousins
