It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Joe
(Joseph Martin) Gauvin on Thursday, October 4th
at the age of 91. Son of the late Ethel (Delaney) & Bliss
Gauvin. Spouse of June (Campbell) Gauvin.
He is survived by his three daughters Cheryl (Garfield)
Ganong, Trina Ladd, Debbie (Charles) Richard; eight grandchildren
Ryan, Joel, Roghan & Grayden Ganong, Caiya Teghan, Shelby
Knowles-Allain, Devin Knowles and Marc-Andre Richard; as well as seven
great-grandchildren Arnav, Alexandre, Akash, Cohen, Chloe, Adele and
Lucas. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family and
was predeceased by six sisters, Aine, Helene, Rita, Doris, Florence
and Josie, and two brothers, Walter and Billy.
Joe grew up in Leger Corner and was passionate about his
career as a salesman for Thornes Hardware. He was hard working and
formerly worked for Moncton Hardware where he developed his passion
for sales. He built many long-lasting friendships with clients and
colleagues he crossed paths with over his long career and retired at
the age of seventy-one.
Joe and June took pride in hosting many wonderful gatherings
over the years at their beautiful home on Centennial Drive. Christmas
Eve will never be the same without their annual neighbourhood open
house. Always an entertainer, Joe was known to belt out a song or tell
a tale to entertain anyone who wanted to listen. Joe and June loved to
travel and toured many exotic places, they could be found sunning
themselves for days on end on Parlee Beach. They loved to dance and
did so as recently as September 14th, 2018. Watching them glide across
the dancefloor was a true pleasure and it was amongst their happiest
moments.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at
Cobb’s Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 330
Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869-2007) on Wednesday, October 10, 2018
