Mike Hartop of Ammon, NB, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021, at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Gloucester, England, he was the son of the late Stanley and Joan (Smith) Hartop.

He was employed as a Civil Engineer with Public Works Canada for over 27 years prior to his retirement. Mike worked on several major projects across Canada from road construction to federal penitentiaries during his career, having received several commendations for his work. He was well known as an avid Duplicate and Life Master Bridge Player and directed the local Moncton Bridge Club. In his younger years he played in a band and enjoyed horse racing while he was still living in England, most recently he became a self-taught painter.

He will forever by in the hearts of his wife of 58 years, Ann (Sayer), daughter Michelle Jones, son Andrew (Heather), his cherished grandchildren; Darcy, Megan, Joshua and Madison, great grandchildren; Alexis and David.

Respecting his wishes, cremation will take place from Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007). There will be a time to share memories and celebrate his life at the family's home at a later date. Donations to the memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
