Joan Isobel Crandall of Riverview, NB, age 81, passed way at home on July 27, 2021.

She is survived by her husband Richard Crandall and her children Lisa Crandall (Bob Erickson), Jeff Crandall (Sabine), Lianne Bhimji (Fuzz), Tara Douthwright (Grant). She was the beloved grandmother of Austin Douthwright, Jeremy Douthwright, Aysha Bhimji, Hishaam Bhimji, Leah Crandall, Reid Crandall; great grandmother to Jazmine Douthwright and Damian Douthwright.  She was predeceased by her parents Helen and Wallace Kelly Sr., she leaves behind her siblings Wallace Kelly II (Margaret), Donald Kelly, Brian Kelly and several nieces and nephews.

Over the years Joan served in many community organizations including Girl Guides of Canada, the Salisbury Lioness and Ladies’ Orange Benevolent Association. As a military wife she enjoyed the opportunity to live in different parts of Canada and to experience different cultures when the family was stationed in Germany and able to explore parts of Europe. She made friends where ever she went and will be missed by friends across Canada.

Joan joined the Salisbury Lioness Club in 1984 and was a member until its closure in 2009.  During her time with Lioness she was able to serve in several capacities which included time as President and as treasurer.  She also served on many committees which included Finance and Project, Canteen and  importantly on the Telephone Committee where she helped keep members informed of their duties and responsibilities.  After the closure of the Salisbury Lioness Branch, Joan continued to keep its branch members in touch by hosting an Annual Christmas party which the ladies enjoyed together right up until Covid interfered. 

A private family visitation will be held at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007) followed by a family graveside the following day.  There will be a open house for family and friends on Saturday, August 7th at 2:00pm at her home.  Donations in Joan’s memory can be made to Diabetes Canada or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
