Brian Ellard of Moncton, formerly of Riverview passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at The Moncton Hospital.  Born in Ottawa he was the son of the late Archie and Cecelia (McCloskey) Ellard.

Brian was a retired music professor having taught at the Universite du Moncton from 1969 – 1980, the University of Sherbrooke from 1980 – 1983 and Mount Allison from 1983 – 2003.  He had a love for reading, golfing, curling carpentry, and most of all spending time with his family.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Mary Anne Ellard, sons Derek (Christina) Ellard, Brent Ellard (Jill Murphy), sister Mary Lou (Tony) O’Neill, sister-in-law Judith Hughes, granddaughter Katie.  Aside from his parents he was predeceased by two brothers Barry Ellard, Frank Ellard and a sister Lynn Ellard.

Brian’s family will be receiving friends and relatives on Friday, August 6, 2021 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007). It would be encouraged for visitors to wear their masks.  The private interment will take place at Fair Haven Cemetery.  Donations made to Habitat for Humanity would be appreciated by his family.
