Marion Elizabeth (Betty) Wedge

Marion Elizabeth (Betty) Wedge

It is with loving hearts that the family of Betty Wedge announces her passing on September 13, 2021 at the Jordan Life Care Centre one month shy of her 101st birthday.  Her anecdotes of family and world awareness persisted into her final hours.

Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of John Wolstenholme Sr. and Ellen (McMahon) Wolstenholme. Betty was predeceased by her husband Raymond Wedge. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  Betty is survived by her sisters-in-law Ferne Wolstenholme and Joan Varnyck and brother-in-law Ernest Wedge, as well as, several nieces and nephews.

Betty received a secretarial diploma from Marianopolis College and a teacher's certificate from the New Brunswick Normal School.  She worked for Atlantic Blue Cross for several years. Betty was a keen bridge player to the end.

Betty’s family would like to express their sincere thanks to all the staff at the Jordan Lifecare Centre for their care and loving attitude towards her over the past seven years.  Betty truly appreciated their friendship and often talked about how hard they worked, and yet they often found time to sit and chat with her.
