Sharon Gertrude McCollum

We are saddened to announce the passing of Sharon McCollum of Riverview on October 5th at The Moncton Hospital. She was born in The Glades to the late Bliss and Gertrude (Gallie) Carter.

Prior to retiring from NB Power following a career of 23 years, Sharon worked for the T. Eaton Company. In her free time, she enjoyed playing guitar, country music, attending concerts with her sister Faye, and watching sports, especially tennis.

Apart from her parents, she is predeceased by her sisters Dorothy Murray, Susan Facca, and Patricia McDonald.

Sharon will be missed by her son Kevin McCollum (Jen McGrath) of Halifax, sister Faye MacFarlane, brother Beverly Carter (Ruby), brother-in-law Lester Murray, step-granddaughter Sophia Hewitt, and several nieces and nephews, including special niece Sherry MacFarlane (Stewart).

Honouring her wishes, cremation has taken place at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road in Riverview (869-2007). A service to celebrate Sharon’s life will be held on Saturday, October 9 at 1 PM from the funeral home, with her family receiving friends and family for visitation from 12pm until the time of service. Proof of double vaccination, provincial ID, and masks will be required upon entry. Burial at Fair Haven Cemetery will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to Diabetes Canada or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
