It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Dave Ervin at the age of 80 surrounded by his loving family and close friend David McGrath. Born in West Saint John, he was the son of the late Bill and Anita (Orr) Ervin.

Dave graduated from St. Malachy’s High School in 1959. He then worked in distribution and transportation for 30 years. Following retirement in shipping and transport, Dave enjoyed connecting with the public while working at Debbie’s Convenience.

Dave gladly welcomed the company of family and friends into his home anytime. He had a warm and caring nature and cherished his loving relationships with his wife, children, and especially his four grandsons who lit up his life.  He was a family man who instilled the values friendship and compassion in his children. Dave was a sports, travel and news enthusiast who enjoyed having a discussion, debate, and a laugh with all.

He is survived by his wife Kathy of 56 years and their children David, Daniel (Trina), Anne, Daughter #2 Erin; and grandchildren Jarod, Shane, Ben and Matthew. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Carol Sutton and daughter in law Liz Curran.

Dave’s family will be receiving friends and relatives on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 4- 6 pm at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007).  A service to celebrate his life will take place at the funeral home on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 1 pm with Father Charlie Broderick presiding.
