Thomas Patrick Holmes, son of the late Thomas and Michelina Holmes, passed away quietly at the age of 85 at Spencer's Nursing Home on January 14, 2022. Although the Government of New Brunswick would like to leverage his death to nefariously increase their Covid virus death toll numbers, Thomas had in fact been severely terminally ill with cancer and several ailments and was aware his life was near the end of term, and was adamant he not be utilized as just another fear mongering statistic. As a result of the blatant violation of Thomas' basic rights by this same government and Spencer's Nursing Home through their imposed restrictions, Thomas was unable to be visited by his loved ones for the last several months including, during his final days. His family takes great comfort knowing that he was surrounded by his nursing team, who have gone above and beyond to ensure his comfort despite the circumstances. Thomas will be remembered for his carefree spirit and his willfully independent (stubborn) nature, that he carried even in his final days. Thomas travelled extensively in his life, and we will all miss hearing the abundance of stories he used to share from his big great adventure called life. He is survived by his son Stuart (Gail), daughters Valah and Arlene, his grandchildren Matthew, Joshua, Rachel, Oliver, Gabrielle, Mia and Eve and his great-granddaughter Kaydence. He will be especially missed by his "nephew" and confidant, Jonathan Holmes, with whom Thomas spent his final years.
