Darrell Frederick O’Pray, age 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 7, 2022 in Riverview, NB following many years of battling through severe heart issues. Despite this, he continued to fight to the end with never a complaint to be heard. Born in Truro, NS he was the son of the late George S. and Helen (Connolly) O’Pray.. Darrell was a graphic artist at heart which could be seen on the Town of Riverview’s RHS Royals Zamboni as well as his being known for his impeccable handwriting. In his early years he was a world-class candlepin bowler and an avid tennis player. After a few different career stops he found his true calling as an addictions counsellor at the Dorchester penitentiary, a vocation he truly loved. He attended the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Above all else he was kind and thoughtful to everyone, his Happy Birthday singing calls were legendary.  Besides his parents, Darrell is predeceased by his wife Bernadette and brother David. He is survived by his children Michael (Adrienne), Aundrea, Ian, grandchildren Harrison, Sophie, Stella, and Zoe as well as a

sister Carol.

His family will be receiving friends and relatives on Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 6 – 8 pm at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007). A service celebrating Darrell’s life will take place from the funeral home on Friday, May 13th at 11 AM with Father Charles Broderick officiating.. Face Masks are encouraged for both events.  A special thank you to Dr. Peter Stodddard, Dr. Dan Landry, Dr. Ron Bourgeois, staff of The Moncton Hospital Heart Clinic and the staff of Monarch Hall for their care and support for Darrell.
