Darryl passed away for the final time on May 31, 2022. You see, we first lost Darryl to dementia years ago - it’s been a long goodbye.

Born in 1942, in Moncton, he was the oldest son of the late James & Burton (Pike) Innes.

Darryl graduated from Acadia University (BComm 1965), UNB Law School (1969) and soon opened Innes & Bossé Law Firm, where he practiced for his entire career.  While best known for his ethical legal practice, he was most at home listening to music (everything from Mozart to John Denver) and walking the land on his Stoney Acres Farm in Elgin.

Darryl was a kind, caring and intelligent man who believed in the importance of community. Few knew of his many charitable contributions to affordable housing, education and legal assistance as well as being a fierce supporter of Moncton Headstart.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Elizabeth (Betsy) Wolf Innes, and his 5 children, Chris (Debra) Innes of Manotick ON, Mary-Beth Orozco (Duane Orozco), Jill (Pierre) Arsenault, both of Moncton, Jonathan (Jessica) Innes of Cornwall PE and Matthew (Brianna) Innes of Fruitvale BC. The 12 grandchildren he adored: Daniel & Nathan Innes, William, Samuel & Jack Orozco, Eleanor & Annabelle Arsenault, Guinevere & Morgana Innes and Bryce, Charlie & Julia Innes. As well as his brother William Innes of Toronto, ON, his brother-in-law John (Nancy) Wolf of Wethersfield CT and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A special thank you to the caregivers at Lakeview Manor for providing love & comfort to dad in his final years.

A celebration of life will be held at Cobb’s Funeral Home in July at 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007). We ask that you celebrate Darryl by taking a quiet walk in the woods, doing something nice for others or donating to Moncton Headstart. Turn on some John Denver and know that Darryl is home, Country roads, take me home to the place I belong…

His family wishes to invite you to share memories and celebrate his life on Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm  at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007).
