Marilyn Copp, of Riverview, passed away at McNair Manor in
Riverview on Monday, February 13, 2023, after a long, courageous
battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Born in Joggins, NS, she
was the daughter of the late Patricia (St. Peters) Legere and the
grand-daughter of Henry and Clara St. Peters.
Marilyn could often be seen walking Chance, their sweet
Westie, around Riverview. Always social and up for some fun,
Marilyn loved the camp they built in Rosevale, hosting many parties
there. She loved snowmobiling around the mountain, traveling
with Trueman and their circle of friends, shopping trips with Cheryl,
and family camping trips when her children were young.
Marilyn was an amazing Nanny to Kayla and Jakob and shared so many
special moments with them. Marilyn and Trueman owned and operated
Riverview Truck Repair. Prior to her illness she faithfully attended
the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
She will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Trueman;
daughter, Kristel Desjardins (Glen) of Fredericton; son, Trevor (Lori)
of Riverview; brothers, Douglas and Dara Legere both of Joggins, NS,
and her precious grandchildren, Kayla and Jakob. Special friends,
Cheryl McKay and Ginette Bradley, were Marilyn’s angels as
her disease progressed.
The family expresses sincere gratitude to the staff at
McNair’s, where Marilyn received such great
care.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd.,
Riverview (869-2007) on Wednesday from 6 – 8 PM, with parish
prayers taking place from the funeral home at 7:45 PM. The funeral
mass will take place at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on
Thursday at 11 AM, with Father Phil Mulligan presiding. The interment
will take place in Alderwood Cemetery. Donations made to
Alzheimer’s NB or The War Amps of Canada would be greatly
appreciated by the family.
