Bernard (Bernie) Lawrence Stafford of Riverview, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at his residence.  Born in St. John, NB, he was the son of the late William and Bertha (Hanson) Stafford. He was a former shift manager for the Department of Transport asan Air Traffic Controller for 38 years. Bernie enjoyed reading in his spare time and was a faithful Catholic, he attended Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. Augustine’s Catholic Churches.

He will be dearly missed by sons Doug (Barbara) and Bruce (Chris), brothers Bill (Lorraine) and Edward, grandchildren James (Ashley), Matthew (Katie), Stephen (Erica), Aaron, Sarah (Justin) and Jared, great grandchildren Jaina and Carl, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased his wife Elizabeth (Betty-Lou) (Scullion) Stafford.

A funeral mass will be celebrated from Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic church on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 11 AM, with Father Angus Johnson presiding. A reception to follow in the church hall.  The interment will take place at Oceanview Cemetery, Saint John at a later date.  Donations made to a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
