Walter Leaman of Riverview passed away on Sunday, March 12,
2023 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Sunny Brae. He was the
son of the late John and Mildred (Steeves) Leaman.
As a young man, Walter had attended Oulton’s
College and London Bible College. He then had a long and
successful career with Lounsbury’s Company starting in the
head office and he continued his career in the Industrial (Heavy
Equipment) Division of Lounsbury Industries for over 25 years. He Held
positions such as office manager, treasurer, VP and President. Walter
was a "jack of all trades" he could do carpentry, plumbing,
electrical, wood working and automobile repairs. In his spare time he
enjoyed fishing, ski-dooing, camping, genealogy and coin
collecting.
Walter took great pride in supporting his grandchildren in
what ever sport or hobby they enjoyed. This included hockey,
basketball, soccer, music, refurbishing a Classic Car.
Walter’s faith was important to him and has been a
great comfort for him through life’s struggles. Walter
taught Sunday school, served on boards of management, and
Deacon’s boards. He volunteered his time to do auditing,
building maintenance, and small construction projects within the
church.
Walter will be dearly missed by his daughter Laurie
Kammermann (Ron), son Glenn Leaman (Jodey); grandchildren Nathan,
Joshua, Michael, Kaylee, Cassie, Timothy and several nieces and
nephews.
Aside from his parents he was predeceased by his wife Audrey
Leaman (Bishop); sisters Lauretta Leaman, Doris Dunfield and brothers
Burton and Bill.
Walter’s family will be receiving friends and
relatives at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330
Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007) on Friday March 17, 2023 from
6:00 – 8:00 pm. A service to celebrate
Walter’s life will be held at the Highfield Baptist Church
on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 1:00 pm. The interment will
take place at the Elmwood Cemetery at a later date.
