It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon Dunfield formerly of Upper Coverdale on April 30, 2023 at Monarch Hall. Gordon was born in Sussex Corner and raised in Anagance
When Gordon chose to end his education , his father said "you better get a job if you’re not going back to school". Therefore, he immediately went to work on a farm, then later at his uncle’s mill in Anagance then onto Eastern Dry Cleaners. Gordon had an extended career with Maritime Beverages, first as a delivery person and then moved on to sales. Following his career with Maritime Beverages he realized that he wanted to continue working and missed engaging with the public so he went to work as a school bus driver and worked at an Agency store in Salisbury. In his spare time he enjoyed long country drives, the gleam of new cars and was an avid reader and enjoyed his word search puzzles. He spent many Sundays on road trips with his buddy Kevin MacKinnon
He will be dearly missed by his wife Lorna (Crossman) Dunfield; daughter Deborah Richard; beloved grandchildren Andrea (Eric), Bradley (Sasha); cherished great-grandchildren Olivia, Kohen, Sophia, Carter, Arlo; sisters in law Brenda (Gary) Demmings, Elaine Eagles; brothers in law Wayne (Julie) Crossman and Lee Demmings; and several nieces and nephews.
Aside from his parents Everett and Laura he was predeceased by a brother Wayne, mother and father in law Leslie and Freda Crossman, sisters in law Iva Frazee and Carolyn Demmings, brother in law James Frazee
Respecting his wishes cremation has taken place at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007). A private gathering will be held. Donations made to Habitat for Humanity would be appreciated by his family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cobbsfuneralhome.ca
