It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donna B. Reid at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, May 26, 2023. Born in Moncton, she was the adopted daughter of the late LeBaron and Ida (Johnston) Reid. Her parents were the late Howard and Leone (Reid) Hawkes.

Donna worked one year at Eaton’s General Office and 31 years at CN Rail. She attended Moncton Wesleyan Church where she was a former choir member and Sunday School teaching assistant. She enjoyed travelling and taking pictures. She was a member of the Photographic Society of America, the Covered Bridge Society of America, the Albert County Historical Society and Genealogy Society, and The Red Hatters Group. She attended the Senior’s Group and enjoyed reading and doing puzzles.

She is survived by her brother Douglas Hawkes, aunt Muriel Hawkes of Albert County, nieces Kathy Hawkes-Trecartin, Gayle Barrett, Tanya Hawkes, and Amy Hawkes, nephew Chris Hawkes, great-nephews Matthew, Patrick, and Lucas Harris and Kyle Barrett. Her great pride and joy were her great-great-nieces and nephews Rielle, Reese, Raya, Jax, Cash, and Bexleigh. She is also survived by 51 wonderful first cousins.

Besides her birth and adoptive parents, she was predeceased by her father Howard’s second wife Doris Hawkes, her brother Ralph and his wife Pat Hawkes.

Respecting Donna’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or service. A private graveside service will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869-2007). Donations made to a charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
