It is with great
sadness that the family of Sherri announce her sudden passing on May
27, 2023 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Moncton she was the daughter
of Ray and Deanna (Dobson) Knapper.
In her life she worked
as an educational assistant and behaviour interventionist in schools,
most recently Riverview East school. Sherri adored her work and her
students. Her passion, empathy and patience allowed her students,
coworkers and teachers a place to be heard, cared for, and loved. She
touched everyone with the way she cared for these children. If someone
needed a chance, she gave it to them. When speaking with Sherri, you
felt like the only person in the room. Her kindness filled the air,
and you knew she was present without even seeing her just because of
the warmth she radiated. She went on to co-found the Riverview Girl
Guide Pathfinder Unit, further showing her dedication to the next
generation.
Sherri spent her
summers at KOK Campground, her happy place, with her BFF, and a rich
community of friends. Sharing food, laughter and good times was
Sherri’s specialty. For many, their happy place was wherever
Sherri was. Now, and for eternity, Sherri’s Happy Place will
be a memory of everything she loved, and the rich life she lived. The
wind will blow, and the waves will crash, the sun will rise and set,
but the footprints Sherri left in the sand, and in our memories, will
remain until the end of time.
She truly was
selfless, giving so much of herself and her thoughts to those who
needed it. Though Sherri was taken far too soon, it is known that
Sherri was always where she needed to be. As she spent her life
helping us all, giving everything she had for the happiness,
prosperity and health of those she loved, all should be comforted
knowing she will give life and health to others in need through the
Organ Donation Program.
In addition to her
parents, she will be remembered and missed by her daughter Baylie, son
Logan, spouse Richard Miller, her biological mother Penny Perry,
half-sister Sara (Neil) Wolthers, half-brother Anson (Michelle)
Chappell, the father of her children Rene as well as several nieces
and nephews. Sherri was preceded in death by her sister
Suzanne Lee Knapper.
A celebration of her
life will be held for family and friends at Cobb’s Funeral
Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd. Riverview (869-2007) on
June 2, 2023 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
Donations in her
memory may be made to Girl Guides of Canada Pathfinders, Canadian
Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
