It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful
passing of Rowland Walter Williams of Riverview on Saturday, August
26, 2023 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Cumberland Bay, NB, he was
the son of the late John and Minnie (Studley) Williams.
Rollie was a legend in his own way, known by many for his
smile (grin) and the stories that he not only told but made. He
retired following many years in the trucking industry working for
Brunswick Petroleum Transport, Gulf Oil, and Ultramar. His greatest
joy was serving the hundreds of truckers at his Ultramar Cardlock on
the former trans Canada outside of Moncton. He was respected by many
for the impeccable service he provided to his fellow truck drivers.
This was his passion.
He will be sadly missed by his children Kevin Williams
(Kimberly), Sherry Peel (John), Brenda Williams (Andrew), and Brian
Williams (Krista), grandchildren J.P, Dolly, Marty, Kelsey, William,
Colin, Andrew, and Emma, 4 great-grandchildren, the mother of his
children Joan Williams (Strayhorn), his sister Pat Blackier (Eric),
stepbrother Johnny Williams, and several nieces, nephews, and extended
family members. Also his many friends of all walks of life, who
he’d the give the shirt off his back for and
did.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister
Ada Antworth (Stillman).
Rollie’s family extends an invitation to friends
and relatives to join them at Cobb’s Funeral Home and
Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007) on
Wednesday, September 6th from 6 – 8pm
for a time to share and celebrate his life. Donations made to the IWK
would be appreciated by his family.
