Roger Austen, 77, of Riverview, N.B., passed peacefully away at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 after a sudden illness. He took his last breaths surrounded by his daughters and loved ones.  He was a great man, a friend to all and made each of us the people we are today. Words can't express how much we miss him.

Retired for the past number of years, Roger was a familiar and trusted contact to many community pharmacists throughout the Maritime provinces as a regional representative for many years with the Drug Trading Company Ltd., and later with Kohl & Frisch Ltd.  He also previously served the congregation of St. Paul’s United Church as a steward.

Born in Haliburton, Ont., he was the son of the late Harry and Jennie (Rogers) Austen.  Roger was also predeceased by his wife, Katherine Austen.  He will be dearly missed by his three daughters, Amanda Nash (Michael), Cambridge, N.S., Laura (Joe Juarez), Ottawa, Ont., and Sarah (Josh Moore), Ottawa, Ont.; and his four grandchildren Moira, Matthew and Miranda Nash, and Bennett Moore. He will also be missed by his sister Brenda Carroll, Beardmore, Ont., brother Matthew Austen, Barrie, Ont., and his many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview, N.B. (506-869-2007) on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 PM.  A funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s United Church, 404 Cleveland Ave., Riverview, N.B. on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 1:00 PM.

We are forever grateful for the love and support shown by Roger's friends and acquaintances.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Albert County Food Bank. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cobbsfuneralhome.ca
