It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Teresa Mary McSheffrey.
Born in Wakefield Quebec, Teresa was the cherished daughter of Agnes (McLaughlin) McSheffrey and the Late Herbie McSheffrey. Dear sister to Victor (Mary) Ottawa and Peter (Kelly) Winchester and twin sister to the late Terry McSheffrey (Lorna) Riverview, NB. Beloved aunt to Daniel (Samantha), Steven, Madison and Ares. Predeceased by her nephew Matthew. Great aunt to Francis and William.
Teresa grew up on the Family Farm in Wakefield and always loved animals, especially dogs. She would fondly recall stories of her childhood dog, Barney.
Teresa was a devoted employee, starting at the Bank of Canada, 26 years with Zellers in Ottawa and then Sears in Moncton, New Brunswick until her retirement.
She had a kind and caring heart and was a friend to all that she held dear. She was always thinking of others and wanting to help with a kind word or deed. Teresa was soft spoken and gracious, even through her courageous battle with cancer.
She fought a valiant battle with cancer. She asked that any donations be made to Cholangiocarima in her memory.
We would like to thank The Moncton Hospital – Oncology Unit and the Emergency Department and the Dr Georges Dumont Hospital – Emergency and Acute Care Unit, Extra Mural Nurses and Medigas Home Care Team.
A memorial service will be held Dec. 2nd in Ottawa.
