John Charles Ellison, 78, of Moncton passed away peacefully
surrounded by his family after a lengthy battle with cancer at The
Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. He was the
son of the late E. Lloyd and May (Knott) Ellison. Born in
Bromley, Kent, England he spent his childhood in Sussex and adult life
in Moncton.
John began his work career by joining the military REMI
(Royal Canadian Electrical Mechanical Engineers) starting in Kingston,
Ontario. After 2 tours of duty in Gaza, he left the military
for private life. He held many positions mainly Purchasing
Manager for Westburne Industrial Enterprise. John enjoyed
his life and was so outgoing with a hearty welcome for one and
all.
He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Deborah
(Jardine), son Tony (Cheryl); grandson James; sister Rose Mary Smith
(late Manson); brother Doug (Mildred). John will be missed
by his extended family brothers in law Bruce (June), Keith (Anna) and
sister in law Jill (Tim)and several nieces, nephews, extended family
and friends.
John fought a courageous battle with cancer. He
enjoyed hunting and fishing in earlier years and shooting targets at
the Petitcodiac Gun Club. He enjoyed travelling with his
wife Deborah to destinations near and far away.
His visitation will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2023 from
2:00 – 4:00 pm at Cobb’s Funeral Home and
Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview
(506-869-2007). A service to celebrate his life will be held
at the funeral home on Monday November 27, 2023 at 2:00 pm with Rev.
Danny Compton presiding. Reception to follow.
Interment to take place at Sussex Corner at a later date.
