Kimberley Ruth Keith of Riverview
passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Dr. Georges-L Dumont
University Hospital Center in Moncton with her loved ones at her side.
Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of Blake Briggs and the late
Carol (Toner) Briggs. When her parents were transferred out West, and
Kim wanted to finish her schooling in Riverview she moved in with Bill
and Bernice Hanson who became "Mama and Papa". The Hanson
girls, Cathy (Ken); Peggy (Mark); and Natalie (Scott) became her
adopted sisters and lifelong
friends.
Kim is survived by her father,
Blake, brother Peter (Karen), nephews, Robert, Michael, David and
Matthew, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Cousin, Ted (Carol) was a great
support to Kim and was very close to her. She will be missed by her
family, the Hanson Family, along with adopted nieces, nephews, (Katie,
Amy, Matthew, Sean, Sarah, Ashley, and Emily), great nieces, and
nephews (Connor, Cassie, Henry, Charlie, and Andi), and the
Northrup/Speiran family with whom she had a special connection,
especially, Cindy (Loren), and Calvin.
Kim was predeceased by her mother
Carol Briggs, her maternal and paternal grandparents, several aunts
and uncles, and husband Derrick
Keith.
Kim worked in retail and customer
service at various times over the years when her health allowed. She
had an abundance of faith in God which helped get her through her 30+
year illness. She was an inspiration to whomever she met and has been
described by many as "The Strongest Woman I Know".
We all need a group of trusted
friends who love us. Kim had that in Cathy Barter, Peggy Killaire,
Brenda Carter, and Cindy Speiran who were inspired by
her. Kim referred to them as her village. She loved
her family, her "adopted" family, her village and their
families, and her friends.
Kim’s family and her
village would like to thank the Hemodialysis Team and various
specialists who cared for her over many years. They also wish to thank
the wonderful team on 4F-Nephrology at the Dr. Georges-L Dumont
University Hospital Center for caring for her over the past seven
months and especially the team members who cared for her during her
last days.
The family will be receiving
relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation
Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (506-869-2007) on Friday, April
19, 2024, from 6 – 8 PM. A service celebrating her life will
take place at the Bethel Presbyterian Church on April 20, 2024, at
11AM with Seth Crowell and Rev. Charles Cook presiding. (Please
