Woodworking was Merlin's
passion, although there wasn't anything he couldn't do or fix.
From cars to household issues to special projects, he was
always thinking creatively. He designed and crafted numerous
beautiful wooden candy dishes and lamps on his lathe and if you needed
anything to complete your own project, it could be found in his
workshop. He loved nature and all animals and over the
years, they had many cats, dogs, birds; he even rescued a wild turtle
and crow! His kindness had no boundaries.
Oil painting was another passion
in which he exceled. He loved painting landscapes and many
of his family and friends proudly display his art work in their homes.
Helping people was second nature to Merlin. Without a second
thought, he would offer his time, money, talent, muscle, opinion -
literally the shirt off his back if someone needed it. He
will be greatly missed not only by family and friends, but also by
many strangers who may not even have known his name.
The family would like to extend
a special thank you to the staff and volunteers of the 3600 Floor at
The Moncton Hospital and the Albert House for the thoughtfulness and
care given to him during his stay, it was deeply
appreciated.
